Introduction / Summary
York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority (YNYCA) is committed to building an integrated, inclusive and responsive skills system that supports economic growth, productivity and progression across York and North Yorkshire.
Through this Apprenticeship Levy Transfer Scheme, large levy‑paying employers can now transfer up to 50% of their annual apprenticeship levy funds to other employers, in line with national apprenticeship funding rules updated in April 2024.
Please read the eligibility criteria below carefully before starting this application, as it outlines the requirements for receiving a levy transfer.
To be eligible to receive a levy transfer via YNYCA:
- Your organisation must not have sufficient levy funds available to fully fund the apprenticeship start, or you are a non‑levy paying employer
- Apprentices must live and/or work primarily in York or North Yorkshire
- Levy transfer funds cannot be used retrospectively for apprenticeships that have already started
- The apprenticeship must align with approved apprenticeship standards
All participating employers must hold an Apprenticeship Service (DAS) account.
